Hello! I bought your beautiful tiles in the hopes of using them with Hexkit. Do you happen to have a guide somewhere for this?
I'm grateful to have so many options for changing and customizing the tiles, but since I just want to use them simply, all the different folders are a little overwhelming for me.
1. Depending on if you want to make a flat-bottom or pointy-bottom hex map, copy all the flat-bottom or pointy-bottom tiles from "HexMapMaker\Tiles\Isle of Lore 2" into a new folder somewhere. All the folders with flat-bottom tiles start with "flat." and all the pointy-bottom tile folders start with "pointy.".
2. Create a new map with "File > New" and choose flat-top if you want flat-bottom tiles (or pointy-bottom otherwise).
3. Go to "File > Import Tiles" and navigate to the folder you copied the tile folders into and click on the "Select Folder"-button in the bottom-right of the file dialog. Do not select or navigate into any tile folder!
4. A window should open up where you can adapt a yellow line. Change it in such a way that the yellow line is right in the middle of the thick black tile border. It usually already is when I'm importing tiles. Then click "Save".
5. In the toolbox window where you can choose the tiles from, select "Isle of Lore 2" (or whatever you named your tile folder) from the drop box.
6. You should now be able to click on the tiles in the tile palette and then place them on your hex map.
I really love the art style, beautiful. There is just a little thing that bothers me. It is a detail but i feel the hexagonal frame borders are too thick.
It must be easy to make that change but i just wanted you to know, maybe there are other people to would want lighter borders.
Thanks! The pack comes with 2 more borders (one thicker and one thinner) and together with my Tile Builder tool you can re-export all the tiles automatically with a thinner border (or no border at all).
Heyo! I've actually got the same problem as David below, though I purchased this set from here lol. More specifically, the PNGs and PSDs all appear lighter as if their contrast was lightened. I wonder if maybe its an exporting issue? Same boat though, lovely work!
So you bought the pack here on itch.io and downloaded "isle-of-lore-2-hex-tiles-regular-final.zip" (not "old-legacy-files")? Can you post a screenshot of one of the assets you refer to?
Hey, no problem! I actually downloaded both but would prefer to use the sprite sheets in the legacy files, lol. On second look, however, I did find the regular color versions in the non-legacy zip! So those are there.
For reference, this is how all visual files in the legacy zip appear (PNGs and PSDs).
If you have the sprite sheets in their original colors on hand, would I be able to pester you via email to secure them? Haha
Not sure if I understand correctly, but the old version (legacy files with pale colors) has sprite sheets in a folder called "Sprite Sheets" (top level). But you want the new version (darker, more saturated) as sprite sheets, correct? If so, I would sadly have to refer you to sprite sheet creating programs (or texture atlas generators). Or did I misunderstand something? :-)
(There are also no legacy files (pale color palette) in the isle-of-lore-2-hex-tiles-regular-final.zip)
Hello, I just bought "Isle of Lore 2: Hex Tiles Regular" in roll20 and for some strange reason the colors don't show like here, they are much lighter. Is there a way to fix this problem? In any case, I think it's a fantastic job.
Sorry for the inconvenience. I didn't update the pack on all other storefronts yet, but you can shoot me a mail at info@stevencolling.com and I can give you the packs you bought on Roll20 here on itch.io. Would that be a solution for now? :)
Would love to see some more buildings like the windmill such as lumbermills and so on :D Love this and the strategy figures pack. I've been using for the past few weeks and it's been a pleasure!
How many variants of that element exist in the pack. The "60x" next to the pine tree, for example, means that the pack contains 60 pine trees. The idea is to have some variation with the elements, so a forest doesn't consist of dozens of identical trees! :)
Incredible update. Already bought on dtrpg but I will be purchasing again to support the 2.0 tiles and the amazing (free!) editing tools. Thanks for incorporating so many requests! Looking forward to the 2027 3.0 update.
i bout the bundle last night on roll20 and I'm excited to use them, I hope there will be more biomes in the future, i would love to make a whole world map using your tokens :)

Hey! Let's have a look at this:

If you get stuck somewhere, let me know! :)
Thank you very much, that's a huge help! 💙

You didn't miss anything! After your comment, I added that info to the web page today! :D

Edit: we resolved the issue over email! :)

Ah ok. That would be great! Thank you.
Guess this is some stupid question but I have to ask it anyway as I saw no comparable question here: Is this tileset usable for a tool like HeKit?
Yes, it is! If you got problems setting it up, write me at info@stevencolling.com or ask for help on my Discord! :)
Worked perfect with the documentation included with the files. THX

Great to hear you enjoy it! I put the sawmill on my list of figures I might add some time in the future! :)
this may be a dumb question but what those numbers (20x) in gray close to each image represent?
How many variants of that element exist in the pack. The "60x" next to the pine tree, for example, means that the pack contains 60 pine trees. The idea is to have some variation with the elements, so a forest doesn't consist of dozens of identical trees! :)
Nice job! I bought the summer sale and plan to use Spine to make some animations with your icon. I think it will works great.
That sounds interesting, I hope the rigging works! If you want, feel free to share the results! :)
ok, i will

Thank you for the kind words and the support, although you can get a free itch.io-key if you bought it somewhere else, just hit me up! :)
The 2027 update will have self-conscious AI tiles, just started working on it... :P
Love your work ! I was happy to buy this pack and the strategy figures one. Can't wait to make a honey heist and mausritter adventures :)
Oh, I played Mausritter once, cool game! Good luck! :D
i bout the bundle last night on roll20 and I'm excited to use them, I hope there will be more biomes in the future, i would love to make a whole world map using your tokens :)
Thanks and glad to hear you like them! If you want the pack unlocked on itch.io too, let me know via mail (info@stevencolling.com)! :)
oh sweet, I'll add that to my to-do list today :)
This is awesome! There is also obscured hex tile such as fog of war on its?
No, there's no fog of war tile sadly, but that's actually a good idea I'll consider! :)
Thank you for considering :)
I've added a cloud tile to the pack! :)
